Catherine (Kitty) Pence, Stanford, KY (1924-2014) She was the matriarch of a highly regarded Lincoln County family. She was the widow of the late Morgan Pence. She leaves 30 direct living descendants, includng members of the Kathy & John Chowning family in Taylor, Green, and Adair Counties. She was a retired employee of the Lincoln County PVA office, and was a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Lincoln County Homemakers and Fort Logan Hospital Auxiliary. A one day service has been scheduled for Monday, February 3, 2014 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, 411 West Main Street Stanford, KY 40484. Visitation will be 10am-1pmCT/11am-2pmET. Funeral service will begin at 1pmCT/2pmET, with Reverend John Chowning officiating. Mrs. Pence's granddaughter, Kacey Chowning Milby will provide special music. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery, 630 KY Hwy 78, Stanford, KY. Casket bearers are: Morgan Pence, Nick Whobrey, Josh Brown, Aaron Brown, Chris Cooper, Kaleb Chowning, and Jason England. She was the daughter of the late John and Hazel Gardner Taylor. She died Friday, January 31, 2014, in Stanford, Lincoln County, KY, at the age of 89 years, 7 months, and 2 days. She was the widow of the late Morgan Pence. She was a retired employee of the Lincoln County PVA office, and was a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Lincoln County Homemakers and Fort Logan Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include the following:
