January 2014 Adair Grand Jury returns five indictments

The Adair County Circuit Court grand jury returned indictments against the following individuals on Tuesday, January 28 , 2013.

Those indicted were:

Lakyn T. Collins (12/12/92) Indictment No. 14-CR-00004 - Charged with five (5) Counts, Forgery in the Second Degree. Bail $2,500 unsecured. Arraignment 1pmCT, February 18, 2014.
Johnny Brandt (07/17/1987) Indictment No. 14-CR-00002 - Count 1, Theft by unlawful taking or Disposition, over $500. Count 2, Persistent Felony Offender in the Second Degree Bail $2,500 csec. Arraignment 1pmCT, February 18, 2014.
Richard Bernard (11/24/1978) Indictment No. 14-CR-00003 - Count 1, Criminal mischief in the first degree. Count 2, Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree. NO BOND. Arraignment 1pmCT, February 18, 2014.
Byron Caldwell (06/01/1986) Indictment No. 14-CR-00004 - Count 1, Receiving stolen property over $500, but under $10,000. Count 2, , Persistent felony offender in the first degree. NO BOND. Arraignment February 18 2014, at 1pmCT.
Byron Caldwell (06/01/1986) Indictment No. 14-CR-00005 - Count 1, Receiving stolen property over $500 but under $10,000. NO BOND. Arraignment February 18, 2014

Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceedings.
