Lindsay Pennington-Akers, 31, of Glasgow, KY, (formerly of Russell Springs) died Monday, January 20, 2014 at the UK Hospital in Lexington, KY.

Funeral services for Lindsay Pennington-Akers will be 11amCT/12pmET, Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Russell Springs First Baptist Church, 390 East KY 80, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Jeff Griffin, Bro. Jeff Kerr and Bro. Josh Owens officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT/6pmET, Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at the Church. Burial will be in the Smith Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Doss, Kevin Doss, Jason Doss, Ryan Doss, Matthew Rexroat, Jimmy Pennington, Sam Pennington, and Cliff Pennington.

She was born November 1, 1982 in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY. She died Monday, January 20, 2014, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY at the age of 31 years, 2 months, and 19 days.

She was a teacher and a member of the Russell Springs First Baptist Church. Survivors include the following:
  • Husband: Jacky T. Akers, Glasgow, KY

  • Mother & step father: Charles B. & Pam Smith, Russell Springs, KY

  • Sister: Kacie Pennington Hood (Troy), Scottsville, KY

  • Two step sisters: Angela (Mike) Ragle, Jamestown, KY; and Carla (Clint) Hart, Russell Springs, KY

  • Step brother: Bryan (Melissa) Smith, Russell Springs, KY

  • Sister-in-law: Michele & Robert Green, Hampton, Georgia

  • Eleven neices and nephews: Paul Allen Dick, Katie Dick, Morgan Hood, Maggie Hart, Natalie Hart, Bryanna Smith, Blane Smith, Clare Hood, Reece Hood, Angelina Green, and Dalton Green
The family requests memorials to Gideons International or the Leukemia Lynphoma Society. These can be made at the funeral home or the church.
