Charles Morris Rush, Metcalfe Co., KY (d. Jan. 20, 2014)

He was a member of a highly regarded South Metcalfe County, KY, family. He was the son of the late Ralph Kenton and Mamie Brooks Rush. He leaves 4 direct living descendants. He was retired from the Kentucky Cabinet of Social Services.

Charles Morris Rush age 81 of Summer Shade died Monday January 20, 2014 at the Barren County Health Care in Glasgow.

Funeral services will be 2pmCT, Thursday, December 23, 2014, at the Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Missionary Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1pmCT until 8pmCT at the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Ralph Kenton and Mamie Brooks Rush. He was retired from the Kentucky Cabinet of Social Services.

He is survived by his wife Marine Rush of Summer Shade, KY, and the following:
  • Two grandchildren: Bo Tabor of Summer Shade, KY and Emily, wife of Ben Jessie of Glasgow, KY

  • Son in law: Danny Tabor of Lucas, KY

  • Two great grandchildren: Kaleb Rush and Carly Ford

  • Three brothers: Tab, husband of Ella Rush of Glasgow, KY; Buddy, husband of Suzanne Rush of Louisville, KY; and Butch, husband of Jolene Rush of Naples, FL

  • Three sisters: Lena Margaret Dickerson of Glasgow, KY; and Mary, wife of Jerry Stephens; and Sue Romines both of Naples, FL

  • Several nieces and nephews
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter Sherry Tabor and one sister.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to the Sherry Rush Tabor Memorial Fund c/o Western Kentucky University or Missionary Mound Cemetery Fund.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
