Howard (Ed) Skaggs, Russell County, KY (1927-2014)

He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident if the county at the time of his death. She was the son of the late Loren & Emmer Brockman Skaggs. His wife, Mary Lola Skaggs, survives. He leaves five direct living descendants. He was a merchant and a member of Calvary Temple Church in Columbia, KY.

Howard "Ed" Skaggs, 86, of Jamestown, Ky, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral services for Howard "Ed" Skaggs will be 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Bobby Dunbar officiating. Friends may call after10amCT/11amET, Friday. Burial will be in the McBeath Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Dunbar, Larry Skaggs, Ottis Skaggs, Nathan Skaggs, Matthew Skaggs, William Taylor. Special music by Bobby Dunbar.

He was born Saturday, September 24, 1927 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Loren & Emmer Brockman Skaggs. He died Sunday, January 19, 2014, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 86 years, 3 months, and 25 days.

He was a merchant and a member of Calvary Temple Church in Columbia, KY.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lola Skaggs (1933-2017), Jamestown, KY, and the following:
  • A daughter: Wanda Simpson, Russell Springs, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • Three sisters: Martha Antle, Mae Wooldridge, Maude Wooldridge, all of Jamestown, KY
