She was a retail manager and a charter member of Eastside Praise Church of God. She was a native of Russell Springs, KY, and a resident of Louisville, KY, at the time of her death. He was the daughter of the late Corbin & Flona Popplewell Dunbar, and the widow of V.E. "Jinks" Perkins. She leaves 21 direct living descendants.

Norma Colleen Perkins, 83, of Louisville, KY, died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Seneca Place In Louisville, KY.

Funeral service for Norma Colleen Perkins will be 10amCT. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Visitation will be 5pm8pmET, Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Eastside Praise Church of God, 6300 Billtown Road, Louisville, KY, and 4:30pm-8pmCT, Monday, January 20, at Bernard Funeral Home. Burial will be a Square Oak Cemetery in Russell County, KY. Pallbearers: Anthony Perkins, Jonathan Perkins, Richard Perkins, Christopher Smith, Sean Carr, and Randy Davidson.

She was born Friday, January 17, 1930 in Russell Springs, KY. She was the daughter of the late Corbin & Flona Popplewell Dunbar. She died Thursday, January 16, 2014, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 30 days.

She was a retail manager and a charter member of Eastside Praise Church of God.

Preceded in death by a brother, Quentin Dunbar and a sister, Gyla Harrison.

Survivors include the following:
  • Husband: V.E. "Jinks" Perkins, Louisville, KY

  • Three children: Rev. Larry (Judy) Perkins,Somerset, KY; Sherry (Rev. Mike) Smith, Louisville, KY; and Mickey (Jodi) Perkins, Louisville, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • Three sisters: Gwen Conn, Greensburg, KY; ;Roberta Morrison, Las Cruces, New Mexico; and Elaine Davidson, Louisville, KY
