Dearil W. Jones, 68, Summer Shade, KY (1945-2014)

He was born in Summer Shade, KY, and was a resident of the community at the time of his death. He was the son of the Lillian Traylor Lewis, who survives, and the late Wayne Jones. His wife, Juanita Fancher Jones, survives. He leaves 3 direct living descendants. He was a retired truck driver, a veteran of the Army, and a member of Bethel Independent Baptist Church.

Dearil W. Jones, age 68 of Summer Shade, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 16, 2014, at 1pmCT, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with Bro. Ricky Proffitt officiating. Interment will be in the Beaumont Cemetery in Metcalfe County, KY. Visitation will be 1pm-6pmCT, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the funeral home.

He was born December 3, 1945, in Summer Shade, KY. He was the son of Lillian Traylor Lewis and the late Wayne Jones. He died Tuesday, January 14, 2014, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 68 years, 1 months, and 11 days.

He was a retired truck driver, a veteran of the Army, and a member of Bethel Independent Baptist Church.

His wife, Juanita Fancher Jones, survives.

Survivors other than his wife and mother are:
  • One son: Dwayne (Melissa) Jones, Glasgow, KY

  • Two daughters: Sandra (Tony) Dehart, Owensboro, KY; and Annette (Charles King) Jones, Summer Shade, KY

  • One brother: Leroy Jennings, Edmonton, KY

  • Two sisters: Patricia (David Chapman) Jones, Temple Hill, KY

  • His stepfather: Homer Jennings
He was preceded in death by one son, James Jones, his father, Wayne Jones, and stepfather, James Lewis.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Beaumont Cemetery.

McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY in charge of arrangements.
