Mr. Ross F. Curry, age 77, of the West Fork Community in Cumberland County, Kentucky passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Funeral Services for Ross F. Curry will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 1pmCT, in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Troy Elmore officiating. Special music and singing will be provided by Libby Mullinix. Burial will be in the Fudge Cemetery, 847 Independence Road, Breeding, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Donnie Burbridge, Robert Baker, Nathan Hickman, Jimmy Wray, Rick Smith, Thomas Jay Brown, Keith Abston, Lloyd Abston and Jewell Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be J.B. Grider, James Helm, Lacy Grant, Andrew Klingberg, Joey Klingberg, Kenneth Janes, Bob Sprouls and Nick Jones. The family will receive friends after 4pmCT, on Thursday, January 16, 2014 until the funeral hour on Friday.

He was born in Breeding, Adair County, Kentucky on Monday, September 14, 1936, the son of Carl C. and Irene Lacy Curry. He died Sunday, January 12, 2014, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 77 years, 3 months, and 28 days.

He was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church in Adair County, Kentucky and a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Louise Abston Curry of Columbia, Kentucky, and the following:
  • His children: Ricky Curry of Columbia, Kentucky; Lou Ann Curry-Scott and her companion, Mike Warren of Columbia, Kentucky

  • His sister and brother-in-law, Priscilla and Tal Lee Smith of Edmonton, Kentucky

  • His brothers-in-law: Keith Abston of Burkesville, Kentucky; and Lloyd Abston of Edmonton, Kentucky

  • His granddaughter: Kristy Lou Scott of Columbia, Kentucky

  • His great-grandson: Joey Klingberg of Columbia, Kentucky

  • His nephew: Jewell Smith of Glasgow, Kentucky

  • His great-nieces: Morgan Smith and Ashley Smith
