Freddie N. Burton, 77, Summer Shade, KY (1936-2013)

He was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of Summer Shade, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of hte late Clem & Pinkie Burton. His wife, Dolly Spear Burton, survives. He leaves 26 direct living descendants. He was a member of Glasgow Faith Church, a US Army Veteran and a retired truck driver.

Freddie N. Burton, 77, of Summer Shade, formerly of Adair County, died Monday, December 16, 2013 at 9amCT at his residence.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Roger Poynter officiating. Burial in Bearwallow Cemetery, 6090 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 4pmCT, Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at the funeral home.

He was born Thursday, April 2, 1936, in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Clem & Pinkie Burton. He died Monday, December 16, 2013, in Summer Shade, KY, at the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 14 days.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Freddie N. Burton, Jr., Angela Burton & Debbie Dykes.

He was a member of Glasgow Faith Church, a US Army Veteran and a retired truck driver.

Survivors include:
  • His wife: Dolly Spear Burton of Summer Shade, KY

  • One son: Michael Burton of Cincinnati, Ohio

  • Four daughters: Lorie Calhoun of Glasgow, KY; Debbie Spears of Burkesville, KY; Brenda Parrish of Beaumont, KY; Lisa Carter of Willow Shade, KY

  • One brother: Dickie Burton of Shepherdsville, KY

  • Thirteen grandchildren

  • Eight great-grandchildren
