Paul Hinman writes about his Dad: Chuck Hinman Paul Hinman: A Few Words About My Dad: Chuck Hinman. Paul says his father's stories are connected by love. Chuck Hinman obituary - Chuck Hinman, Bartlesville, OK, (1922-2011) By Paul Hinman A Few Words About My Dad: Chuck Hinman Thank you for offering to include a few words from me in ColumbiaMagazine about my Dad. What a privilege! The first year anniversary of my Dad's passing was a time for grieving, a normal process for all who knew him. Now, in this second anniversary year of his passing, along with my time of convalescence due to a fall and broken leg, I have had much time to pause and reflect with memories of my Dad, his life and his writings; however, that process didn't end there. My memories of my life with my Dad and the milestones in my own life all came together as an epiphany: there is a thread of commonality binding all of my Dad's stories together and the same thread is there for my milestones and memories. As an example, I am an Eagle Scout and remember the twelve parts of the Scout Law and think upon them; I think upon the Ten Commandments, each individually and I as I read my Dad's stories individually, I see how all of them are connected: Love! So, in the spirit of this season, Christmas, I was drawn to read and consider I Corinthians chapter 13 in the Bible. The greatest of all these things is Love! One can never say "I love you" too often or too much and gifts are just plain awesome when they are given in charity, in love! May this Christmas season bring all of you inextinguishable Peace and Love! James Paul Hinman Chuck Hinman's son Saturday, December 14, 2013 This story was posted on 2013-12-15 05:00:00
