Dallis R. Wilson age 80, Metcalfe Co., KY (d. Dec. 10, 2013)

He was a Metcalfe County native, a member of a large, prominent family. He was the son of hte late Sherman and Myrtie Hubbard Wilson. His death leaves former Judge Woodrow Wilson the last surviving 12 siblings. His wife of 62 years, Ruth Shaw Wilson survives. He leaves 20 direct living descendants. He was a retired construction worker

Dallis R. Wilson age 80, of Florence, KY, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be held 12pmCT, Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Hubbard Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10amCT until service time Saturday at the funeral home.


Born in Metcalfe County he was the son of the late Sherman and Myrtie Hubbard Wilson and a retired construction supervisor.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Ruth Shaw Wilson of Florence, KY
  • One son: Roger D. (Kim) Wilson of Florence, KY

  • Four daughters: Susie (Mark) Hawkins of Munster, Indiana; Barbara (Ken) Bowmann of Burlington, KY, Shirley (Jeff) Stein of Harrison, Ohio; and Candy (Gary) Gavin of Walton, KY

  • One brother Woodrow (Latoka) Wilson of Edmonton, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Seven great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Wilson; three brothers, Sherman A. Wilson, Earl Wilson and Oris Wilson; seven sisters. Lillian Compton, Gladys Bragg, Blanche Badke, Ada Compton, Zoy Wilson, Delsie Wilson and Bessie Caffee.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
