The Adair County Indians improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 67-53 victory over Grayson County in the Corky Cox Classic at Larue County High School Saturday afternoon, December 7, 2013. This was the first meeting between the two schools since the 2009 KHSAA state tournament.

Adair jumped out to an 11-0 lead and led by no less than 9 points for the remainder of the game. Guards Matt Fudge and Zach Hutchison scored 12 points each in the first half as the Tribe lead 20-11 and 41-23 after the first two periods.

Despite Freshman forward Chance Melton being plagued by foul trouble in the second half the Indians continued their dominance. Melton picked up his 4th personal foul with over four minutes remaining in the 3rd period but the Indians led 50-34 after three periods. The Cougars got as close as 11 in the fourth period but could get no closer as the Indians pulled away 67-53.

Matt Fudge led the Indians with 24 points hitting six of 11 from the field, 2 of 4 from the three and 10 for 10 from the charity stripe. Rounding out the scoring were Hutchison 13, Chance Melton 9, Jacob Pooler 7, Marshall Shelley 6, Ty Bennett 6, and Corey Melton 2. Jake Hixson led the Indians with 7 rebounds before fouling out while Shelley handed out 5 assists.
