Mr. Richard Elmer Patterson, Green Co., KY (1922-2013)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member and former trustee of the Greensburg Baptist Church. He retired from his Civil Service career in 1980 from the Electronic Maintenance Division in Fort Knox, Kentucky, and was a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army.

Mr. Richard Elmer Patterson, 91, of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, December 02, 2013 at his home.

The funeral services for Mr. Richard Elmer Patterson will be conducted at 11amCT., Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the funeral home, and after 7amCT, Thursday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: John Montgomery David Montgomery Benny Montgomery, Tony Patterson Gary Patterson Richard Patterson.

Mr. Richard Elmer Patterson, Green Co., KY (1922-2013)

Mr. Richard Elmer Patterson of Greensburg, Kentucky was son of the late Roy Richard Patterson and Ethel Tucker Patterson. He was born on Friday, February 10, 1922 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Monday, December 02, 2013 at his home. He was 91 years, 9 months, and 22 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member and former trustee of the Greensburg Baptist Church. He retired from his Civil Service career in 1980 from the Electronic Maintenance Division in Fort Knox, Kentucky, and was a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army.

Mr. Patterson united in marriage to Mary Pauline Curry Patterson on January 25, 1946 who preceded him in death on June 26, 2008. Survivors include the following:
  • A son and daughter-in-law: James and Joan Patterson of Lexington, KY

  • A granddaughter: Mallory Patterson of Lexington, KY

  • A brother: Mitchell Patterson of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Richard Patterson on July 24, 2002; and a brother, H.C. Patterson.

Memorials are suggested to the Greensburg Baptist Church Building Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
