Home owner in Taylor Co., KY shoots man in alleged burglary

Hodgenville man airlifted to Louisville Hospital. Condition not known at this time. Incident occurs just before midnight, ET on Spurlington Road, Taylor County, KY, north of Campbellsville, KY.

At 11:52pmET, Saturday, November 30, 2013, the Taylor County Sheriff's Department responded to a burglary of a residence on Spurlington Road.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Steven Christopher Followell of Hodgenville, KY, was threatening harm to the home owner and was forcing his way into the residence and was shot by the homeowner during the course of the crime.



It was determined in the investigation that Followell was intoxicated and the home owner did not know Followell. Followell was airlifted to a Louisville Hospital from the scene and is condition is unknown at this time of reporting.

The Investigation continues and the Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Campbellsville Police and Kentucky State Police. Text of Taylor County Sheriff's Office, Criminal News Release
