He was a retired truck driver and a member of Ellisburg Baptist Church. He was a native of Liberty, KY, and a resident of the city at the time of his death. His wife, Maude Parker King, survives. He leaves 13 direct living descendants spanning 3 generations.

George Sherwin King, age 67, of Liberty, KY passed away on Saturday November 23, 2013, at the Casey County Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 12pmCT/1pmET Tuesday November 26, 2013 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jerry Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Monday November 25, 2013 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.



George Sherwin King, Casey County, KY (1946-2013)

George Sherwin King was born in Liberty, KY on Wednesday, August 14, 1946. He was the son of the late George W. and Blanche Evelyn King. He died Saturday, November 23, 2013, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 67 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

He was a retired truck driver and a member of Ellisburg Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Maude Parker King, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Gayle Marlene and (Paul) Coffman of Bradfordsville, KY; and Carla Mudale Conley of Stanford, KY

  • One son: George Sherwin Kirby and (Tabitha) King of Clarksville, TN

  • Seven grandchildren: Anthony and (Linda) Conley, Bradley Coffman, Nicole Coffman, Kellie Conley, Brandon and (Kayt) Coffman, Cheyenne Conley and Hunter Conley

  • Three great-grandchildren: Harley and Kerstyn Conley and Mayah Cloyd

  • One sister: Janice Hyatt of Indiana
