David (Doc) Long, Casey County, KY (1956-2013)

He was a native of Johnson County, IN and a resident of Liberty, KY, at the time of his death. He was a tool and die technician and a member of the Pine Grove Church. "Doc" was a kind and generous man and helped many children in need of care. He leaves 2 direct living descendants

David "Doc" Long, of Liberty, KY passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was 57.

Funeral services are 12pmCT/1pmET, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Pine Grove Church with Bro. Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial is in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Monday, November 25, 2013, at the Pine Grove Church.



David "Doc" Long, Casey County, KY (1956-2013)


He was born Wednesday, September 12, 1956 in Franklin, Johnson County, KY Indiana. He was the son of Omer Lee Long and Doris Imogene Shreve Coffman. He died Friday, November 22, 2013, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 57 years, 2 months, and 10 days.

He was a tool and die technician and a member of the Pine Grove Church. "Doc" was a kind and generous man and helped many children in need of care.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Peggy Evelyn Johnson Long, whom he married on March 5, 1979, and the following:
  • His father: Omer (and Mary Ann) Long of Dry Creek

  • His mother: Doris Imogene Coffman of Dry Creek

  • His daughter: Amy Beth (and Otniel) Mina of Liberty, KY

  • Three brothers: Danny (and Nancy) Long of Dry Creek, Tommy(and Rachel) Long of Taylor County, and Omer Jr. (and Hedi) Long of Dry Creek

  • Two sisters: Donna (and Truman) Glover of Dry Creek, and Leeann (and Jerry) Bogwell of Dry Creek

  • A granddaughter, Kamilia Mina

  • And a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends

In lieu of flowers, donation may be given to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
