Pianist Finghin Collins at Slider Hall Tues, Nov. 19, 2013 Artist will perform musi by Brahms, Debussy, Mozart, and Schubert Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Duane Bonifer A piano recital by Pianist Finghin Collins featuring the music of Brahms, Debussy, Mozart and Schubert will be given at 7pmCT, Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Lindsey Wilson Colleges, W.W. Slider Humanities Center Recital Hall, 155 Blue Raider Drive, Columbia, KY. The recital is free and open to the public. Collins' program will include Johannes Brahms' "Two Rhapsodies," Claude Debussy's "Estampes," Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Sonata in D Major" and Franz Schubert's "Drei Klavierstuecke (Three Piano Pieces)." One of Ireland's most successful musicians, Collins was born in Dublin and studied piano at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. In 1999, he took first prize at the Clara Haskil International Piano Competition in Switzerland. Since then, he has developed a flourishing international career that has taken him all over Europe, the United States and the Far East. Collins has worked with some of classical music's leading conductors and performers, and he has performed with such orchestras as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Houston Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. - DUANE BONIFER, the writer, is Director of Public Relations at Lindsey Wilson College.
