Adair Democratic Womens Club elects new officers By Victoria Pike, Democrat The Adair County Democratic Women's Club met Monday, night November 4, 2013. The pledge to the flag and the Democrat creed were recited. New officers were elected. President-Victoria Pike, Vice-President-Cynthia Rowe, Treasurer-Glenda Butler, and Secretary-Robin Hancock. Those in attendance were: Jamie Shelley-President, Robin Hancock-Secretary, Glenda Butler-Treasurer, Evelyn Phelps, Margie Collins, Cynthia Rowe, and Victoria Pike. Anyone interested in participating in our club can join us at the meeting December 5, 2013 at the LWC Cramner Dining hall at 6pmCT. Dues of $5 can be paid anytime during the year to active members but are due in to the state by the end of June. This is a dinner meeting with each responsible for their meal. A room has been reserved to accomodate the crowd. Plans were finalized for our end of the year meeting, December 5, 2013, with the Adair County Democratic Executive Committee at Lindsey Wilson Cramner Dining hall to present resolutions of respect to the families of Martha Martin and Jean McLean. Also, our 2013 scholarship winner, Jordan Humphress will join us. New officers will be installed at this meeting as well. We also voted to once again join the Columbia/Adair County Chamber of Commerce for the year 2014. The Chamber provides us an excellent place to hold our meetings. We meet four times a year starting in February on the first Monday night of the month at 6pmCT, in the basement of the Chamber building at 107 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY.
