Guy Jarboe responds to KY Afield article with own fishing story He and six friends fished Winfrey's Landing to Rainbow Run on the Cumberland River and caught some great trout. Happy that the fishing is coming back now that Lake Cumberland drawdown is over. Guy Jarboe writes: Ed, I just read the article in the magazine on the striper fishing and thought I'd respond about my experience last week. 7 of us had our yearly 3 day fishing event on Cumberland River and were so pleased that the fishing is coming back so well. Rainbow Trout average sizes were 15-18 inches. We had a tough time catching 12 and 13" fish for dinner and we caught fish all day every day. We saw many Browns, none over about 13". We put in at Winfrey's (15.9 miles below Wolf Creek Dam, according to Floating Mileages for the Cumberland River from Wolf Creek Dam to TN State Line), motored to Rainbow Run and floated it 2 of the days then floated down strean 1 day. All great fishing and a great time. Wish we lived closer, but Louisville is not too bad. Thanks for the story.
