Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Duane Bonifer COLUMBIA, KY- People who change lives were honored Friday, October 25, 2013 at Lindsey Wilson College's Trustee Appreciation & Endowed Scholarship Recognition Luncheon. LWC President William T. Luckey Jr. told the more than 225 guests at the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center how the college's endowed scholarships change lives. "I can't imagine anything more meaningful than the opportunity to impact lives here on this campus," he said. "In fact, that's what you do -- impact lives here on this campus through the endowed scholarships you've established." Luckey reported that the Lindsey Wilson Endowment $100 Million Challenge had helped double the college's endowment over the last three years. When Luckey issued the challenge in 2010, the Lindsey Wilson Endowment stood at $9 million; it recently reached $18.4 million. "While we're still a long way from our goal, we're a lot closer than we once were," he said. In his keynote address, Lindsey Wilson trustee David Perry of Boston said how his outlook on LWC is shaped by "Perry's 3 P's" -- "Purpose + Place + People = Return on Inspiration." "This is definitely a mission-driven institution -- you can feel it every day, everywhere," said Perry, who is chief marketing office at Bentley (MA) University. "There are certain institutions that are mission-challenged, but this is a mission-driven institution and I felt it from the first day I stepped foot on this campus." Perry said he established the Gertrude & Donald Perry Endowed Scholarship as a way to "pay it forward" by making a difference in the lives of the rising generation. Perry said that one of the characteristics about LWC he especially admires is how the spirit of the college transcends its A.P. White Campus.
