Long time Albany KY businessman, Mr. James Franklin Dyer, Jr., age 78, of Albany, KY, passed away Wednesday October 16, 2013, at the Clinton Co. Hospital in Albany, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. James Franklin Dyer, Jr. will be held Monday. October 21, 2013 at 10amCT/11amET, at Albany United Methodist Church, 304 E Cumberland Street, Albany, KY with Bro. Bobby Grant and Bro. Charlie Shoemaker officiating. Family will receive friends after 5:00 pm on Sunday at the Campbell-New Funeral Home, 115 Cross Street, Albany, KY and the body will lie in state after 7amCT/8amET, Monday, October 21, 2013, until time of the service at the church. Burial to follow in the Albany Cemetery.

He was the son of the late James Franklin and Leah (Sloan) Dyer and was also preceded in death by his son, James Franklin Dyer III, three sisters, Virginia Pemberton, Eula Pickens Tucker and Jean Dyer Dicken.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Ferrell) Dyer, and the following:
  • A daughter: Jennifer Dyer

  • Four grandchildren: Sloan Dyer, James Franklin Dyer, IV, William Cox and Christopher Cox all of Albany, KY

  • A daughter-in-law: Cindy (Sloan) Dyer of Monticello, KY

  • Plus a host of other relatives and many friends
In Lieu of flowers contributions appreciated to Albany United Methodist Church. Campbell-New Funeral Home, 304 E Cumberland Avenue, Albany, KY in charge of Arrangements.
