SOMERSET, KY - Campbellsville University dedicated the new Larry and Beverly Noe Somerset Education Center, Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at 3825c South Highway 27 next to the Technology Training Center.

The new center in Somerset will enable CU to expand on the current partnership with Somerset Community College and enable offerings of additional classes and academic programs in the future.

Dr. Michael V. Carter, Campbellsville University president, said, “This is an historic occasion, and we express sincere thanks to Dr. Larry and Mrs. Beverly Noe for their generous support in making this new location a reality.”

Congressman Hal Rogers, Fifth District U.S. Representative, was represented by his district director, Karen Kelly, who said he is ‘thrilled to have the Noe Education Center right here in Somerset’. She quoted Representative Rogers as saying, “When the Noe family believes in a mission, they support it 110%. It is only fitting that this Center be named for two people who have invested so much of themselves into the development andgrowth of Campbellsville University.”

Dr. French Harmon, senior pastor of Somerset First Baptist Church, provided the invocation for the dedication.

The Honorable Eddie Girdler, mayor of Somerset, addressed the crowd of over one hundred fifty students, university staff and Somerset citizens with a warm welcome.

“This is an exciting day in the growing footprint of the university,” Dr. H. Keith Spears, vice president for graduate and professional studies, said. “Teaming with our off-campus centers in Louisville and Hodgenville, the new Noe Center in Somerset gives an eastern Commonwealth anchor that spans nearly 150 miles.”

Spears, Noe and Dr. Karl Clinard, a member of the CU Board of Trustees from Somerset, KY, gave acknowledgements. Campbellsville University’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Joseph L. Owens, said a prayer of dedication before the Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce leaders gathered everyone for the official ribbon cutting. Campbellsville University’s renowned School of Music provided the string quartet for the dedication.
