Williamson wins 8K at Kentucky Wesleyan Fast Cats Invitational Blue Raider Team finishes 4th of 9 teams at meet By Pierce Yarberry OWENSBORO, KY - John-Paul Williamson won the men's 8K race at the Kentucky Wesleyan Fast Cats Invitational Saturday at Yellow Creek Park. Williamson finished with a time of 26:19 for his second victory on the season, having previously won the Berea Invitational on September 21. Garry Korir crossed the finish line in 27:44 to place ninth and Cody Hymer came in at 29th with a time of 30:05. The Blue Raiders earned 119 total points to place fourth out of nine teams. Bellarmine (KY) University had five runners finish in the top-10 for the top spot with 91 points, followed by Bethel (TN) University with 91 points and Ohio Valley University with 94 points. The women's cross country team was led by Maria Cozzens with a time of 20:51 to finish 17th. Allyson Davis was close behind, coming in at 21:15 for 22nd while Amanda Bland posted a time of 22:42 to place 29th. Lindsey Wilson came in at sixth out of eight teams with 143 total points. Bellarmine also won the women's 5K with 17 points to sweep the meet. Asbury (KY) University earned 67 points for second place, followed by Brescia (KY) University to round out the top three with 79 points.
