Jean Maggard, 65, of Columbia, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 1:45 P.M. at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 11, 2013 at 10amCT/11amET, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Brian Fudge officiating. Burial in Swiss Colony Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurel County, KY. Visitation will be 5pm-7pmCT/6pm-8pmET, Thursday, October 10, 2013, at the funeral home.

She was born Wednesday, October 6, 1948, in Pottstown, Montgomery County, PA. She was the daughter of the late Harold & Dorothy Weller Keifrider. She died Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 65 years and 2 days.

She was a U.S. veteran, serving in the United States Air Force, a member of Columbia Baptist Church and was a deputy clerk at the Adair County Circuit Court Clerk's office.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband: Chester Maggard of Columbia, KY

  • One son: Rodney (Clara) Maggard of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Mellisa (Chris) Hamilton-Wolf of Richmond, KY

  • One brother: Denny Vogt of Pennsylvania

  • One sister: Denise Roadcap of Pottstown, PA

  • Three grandchildren : Brendan Hamilton, Shelby Maggard and Jackson Hamilton
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to be in the form of a donation to the American Cancer Society. These may be left at the funeral home.
