LWC Men, Women Swimming teams host Campbellsville (KY) Season opener for LWC in Columbia, Saturday, October 5, 2013 Click on headline for complete story By Jay Nicols News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's swimming team will host Campbellsville (KY) University at the Holloway Center Natatorium, 299 Williams Street, on Saturday afternoon, October 5, 2013, at 1pmCT to open their 2013-14 season. The Blue Raiders will face Campbellsville (KY) who opend its season on Saturday, September 21 with wins over Bethel (TN) University and St. Catharine (KY) College. "I'm happy to be starting my 4th season as the head coach of this program, and am very proud of how much we have grown, both in numbers but also in talent and dedication to LWC and the sport," said head coach Alicia Kemnitz. "Our squad has doubled since last year, and we hope that this will make a positive impact on our meet record and also the final outcome at Nationals." The meet will feature 16 events including the medley and freestyle relay for both the men's and women's team. Corey Hall and Jonathan Hindman return for the Blue Raiders men's team and look to continue their winning ways in the pool as both just missed out on being individual All-Americans last season. Hall was in the top-8 nationally last season for the 200 fly with Hindman in the top-8 for the breastroke events. For the women's team, freshmen Laura Stephenson will compete in the butterfly disciplines and the individual medley's while another newcomer Raeanne Spears is ready to contribute in her first collegiate meet. "Swimming against Campbellsville is always a good way to start off the season because we are usually very familiar with their team and how they swim," said Kemnitz. "It's also easy to get the swimmers motivated because they are our rival school, and no one wants to lose to them."
