Adese Bernard Thomas, 87, of Woodland, CA,, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Palm Gardens Assisted Living in Woodland, CA.

Memorial service for Adese Bernard Thomas will be at 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Chris Francis officiating. Burial in the Ridge Crest Cemetery. Special Music will be by Joel Rakes.

She was born Wednesday, May 19, 1926 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late J. R. & Ova Dunbar Bernard. She died Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in Woodland, Yolo County, KY, at the age of 87 years, 4 months, and 13 days.

She was employed in the retail industry and was a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clyde O. Thomas; a son, Barry C. Thomas; daughter-in-law, Janine Thomas; two brothers, Buel Bernard, W. H. Bernard; and a sister, Arlene Smith.

Survivors include:
  • A daughter: Nancy Thomas Wofford and her husband, Thomas J. Wofford, Woodland, CA

  • Her sister: Cleeda Delffs, Hendersonville, TN

  • Her brother: Jay Bernard, Nashville, TN

  • Four grandchildren

  • Seven great grandchildren
The family requests donations be made to True Life Church, 734 Old Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, N.J. 08724

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
