Victoria Pike: Goldenrod field next needs mowing

(See also: Goldenrod/Wikipedia entry, which gives Goldenrod, the Kentucky State Flower, (and of Nebraska; and only recently, South Carolina), a somewhat different review.) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. All the remarks on the field we had heard before receiving this opposing viewpoint were favorable. - Ed Waggener

Personal Commentary

As a landowner who strives to keep things looking nice on my side of the road, I would like to see the lot on the South side of Walmart mowed. It is head high with goldenrod and other weeds. I can't remember it ever being mowed since it was developed.

This land, to my knowledge, does not belong to Walmart either. So I am NOT saying it is their problem.

All the other property around it is kept mowed nearly on a weekly basis. This is what those new to our community see when they first leave the parkway and it isn't a good one.

We all talk about wanting what is good for our town and bringing in new business as well as new people. What kind of example does this set?

You have land next to prime real estate being allowed to grow out of control with weeds. Not grass.

I would certainly hope its owners would take care of the problem immediately. Thanks in advance.

Signed, Sneezing on Burkesville Road, Columbia, KY - Victoria Pike
