Mr. Edwin Jesse Wolcott, age 92, of Prattville, Alabama and formerly of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 20, 2013 in the chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home, 115 Cross Street, Albany, KY, with Bro. Bob Sawyer officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky. Pallbearers were Steven King, Dallas King, Miller King, Tim Williams, Craig Wolcott and David Guffey.



Mr. Edwin Jesse Wolcott, Clinton Co., KY (1921-2013)

He was born on Monday, March 7, 1921 in Highland Park, Wayne County, Michigan. He was the son of Jesse Fern and Vernie Zay Fritz Wolcott. He died Sunday, September 15, 2013, in Prattville, AL, at the age of 92 years, 6 months, and 8 days.

He was a member of the Clear Fork Baptist Church, and was a retail sales associate for Sears.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loma Juanita Stockton Wolcott, whom he wed December 7, 1957; his brothers, Warren Denton Wolcott and Robert Francis Wolcott; his sisters, Virginia Zay Hanger and Georgine Anne Wendt, and his step-brother, Rudolph Francis Kleinhans.

He is survived by the following:
  • His daughter: Sue Royal of Prattville, Alabama

  • His son: David (and Judy) Wolcott of California

  • His step-son: David Wayne (and Nancy) Guffey, Michigan

  • His sister: Janette Calder, Michigan

  • Two granddaughters: Sarah (and Tim ) Williams, Jennifer (and Stephen ) King

  • Three step-grandchildren: Stacy Blixhavn, Amy Guffey, Dr. David Guffey

  • Locally by two brother-in laws, John H. "Dick" (and Mona) Stockton, Howard "Tuddy" (and Anna Ruth) Stockton'' his sister-in-law, Ruth Upchurch and Donald Stockton; two great-grandchildren, Dallas King and Miller King;d two step-great-grandchildren, Addison Blixhavn and David Guffey III, plus many other friends and relatives.
