Grandchild of Mattie Maupin has wonderful memories of barber shop And she owns and has enshrined that wonderfully ornate cash register the shop used Lee Ann Sullivan writes: My grandmother, Mattie Maupin, continued to own and manage the Maupin Barber Shop until the building was included into the Bank of Columbia in the mid 60's. I can remember going to the barber shop on Saturday night to close out the cash register, which now sits in the old shoe shine chair in my den.
