William (Bill) Peters, Taylor County, KY (1926-2013)

He was a native of Taylor County, KY, the son of the late Arch Peters and the late Bertha Isaacs Peters. His wife of 67 years, Neoma Caulk, survives. He leaves 13 direct living descendants, spanning 4 generations. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, KY. William "Bill" Peters, 86, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Campbellsville, died at 2:20 A.M., Monday, September 16, 2013, in Elizabethtown, KY.

The funeral service will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. J. T. Rafferty. Burial will be in Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:30amCT/12:30pmET, Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Pallbearers: Allen Edwards Darrell Hunt, Greg Hunt, Larry Hunt, Gary Kleindl, and McGee Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers: David Williams, Rev. Tommy Williams.

William "Bill" Peters was the son of the late Arch Peters and Bertha Isaacs Peters. He was born in Taylor County, KY, Friday, November 12, 1926. He died Monday, September 16, 2013, in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, KY, at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 4 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Elizabethtown.

He had served as a deacon at Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church and Saloma Baptist Church.

He was a retired foreman with the Taylor County Road Department and a farmer.

He united in marriage to Neoma Caulk June 17, 1944.

Besides his wife, Neoma Peters of Elizabethtown, he is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Donna Edwards and husband, Allen of Elizabethtown; Susan Kleindl and husband, Gary of Lexington, KY; and Nancy Williams and husband, Rev. Tommy Williams of Kingsport, TN

  • Two grandchildren: Dena Porter and husband, Bond and David Williams and wife, Tracy of Kingsport, TN

  • Five great-grandchildren

  • One great-great-grandson

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and many friends
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Robert Peters, Charles Peters, Margaret Gilbert and Pearl Sullivan.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be donatioons to Gideon Bibles or Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church and may be made at The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
