Elizabethtown man faces many charges after altercation

News from Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY - On Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at approximately 3:03amET, Kentucky State Police Post 04 received a call in regards to an altercation at 8738 Bardstown Road. Ryannel Braxton (23), and his older cousin, Jeromey Sandlin (27), got into a physical altercation where Sandlin was struck with a blunt object and suffered lacerations to the head. He then left the residence and after a brief chase was stopped by Tpr. Brandon Brooks on U.S. 62.

Mr. Sandlin was arrested and charged with the following: Reckless Driving, Speeding, Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd, Operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 1st, Possession of open alcohol container in motor vehicle prohibited, Wanton Endangerment 2nd (Police Officer). He was later transported to University of Louisville Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Mr. Braxton was acting in self defense. The Assault case remains under investigation by Det. Jeremy Mabe. KSP Post 04 was assisted on the scene by Hardin Co. EMS and the Hardin Co. S.O. - Tpr. Jeff Gregory
