No. 15 Lindsey Wilson Volleyball sweeps visiting Shawnee State

LWC Volleyball off to best start in program history

COLUMBIA, KY - The No. 15 Lindsey Wilson volleyball team defeated visiting Shawnee State (Portsmouth, Ohio) in three sets in Mid-South Conference action Saturday afternoon at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia KY, to continue the Blue Raiders' best start in program history.

Kailey Moorehead led Lindsey Wilson (13-0, 4-0) with 14 kills and Nadelina Nesheva added 10. Mattie Tigges and Nesheva led the team in blocks with five each while Alexa Just totaled 37 assists.



The Blue Raiders recorded runs of four, five and six straight points to take the first set 25-18 and took the second set 25-16 thanks to a six-point run.

The Bears (4-3, 1-2) battled in the third set thanks to multiple kills by Paige Zelich and Tiffany Jackson and several Lindsey Wilson attack errors. Zelich and Jackson led Shawnee State with eight kills apiece, while Hannah Gephart and Bonnie Huesing recorded 10 assists each.

Set three was tied at 12-12 before the Blue Raiders pulled away to win 25-15.
