Mr. Voris Wilson Whitlock, 88, departed this life Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral will be at Community Baptist Church, 5918 Edmonton Road, Greensburg, KY, at 1pmCT/2pmET, Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY. Visitation will be 6pm-9pmCT/7pm-10pmET, Friday, September 13, 2013, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, and after 9amCT/10amET, Saturday, at Community Baptist Church. Ministers officiating will be Bro. Mark Lile, Bro. Wilburn Bonta, Bro. Landon Hadley, Bro. Ricky Clark.Interment will be in Greasy Creek Cemetery in the Exie Community of Green County.



Pallbearers: Brady Matney, Chuck Bagby, Mark Hopkins, Tom Wilgus, Larry Prentice Clark, and Gleason Matney.

Voris Wilson Whitlock, Green Co., KY (1925-2013)

Mr. Voris Wilson Whitlock was born Friday, January 2, 1925 in Green County, KY. He was the son of the late Steward and Lelia Mills Whitlock. He departed this life Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, having attained the age of 88 years, 8 months and 9 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Community Baptist Church. He had taught Sunday School for sixty years. He was owner and operator of Whitlock and Sons Grocery. He was a Green County Constable for many years. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member and former Chaplain of the James L. Pruitt VFW Post 5813, Greensburg, KY.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Vontryce Whitlock, and three sisters: Maxine Bagby, June Wilgus and Theresa Bates.

He is survived by his wife Geraldine Baker Whitlock, and the following:
  • One son and daughter-in-law: Rodney and Cheryl Whitlock of Campbellsville, KY

  • One daughter and son-in-law: Beverly and Mike Creek of Bowling Green, KY

  • One sister: Treva Hopkins of Shepherdsville

  • One grand-daughter and her husband: Angela and Scotty Alexander of Bowling Green, KY
