She was the matriarch of a large, respected Casey County, KY, family. She leaves 41 direct living descendants. She was a homemaker and a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church.

Viola "Bobbie" Lawhorn Brown, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the Liberty Care Center. She was 89.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday, September 8, 2013, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Carroll Egnew and Bro. David Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in South Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM Saturday at the funeral home.



Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Born June 1, 1924, in Casey Co., KY, she was a daughter of the late George T. and Lucinda Hatfield Sallee. She died Thursday, September 5, 2013, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 89 years, 3 months, 4 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church. Survivors include following:
  • Her four sons, Jimmy (Vickie) Lawhorn, Herman (Carol) Lawhorn, and Donnie (June) Lawhorn, all of Dunnville, KY; and Roger Lawhorn of Russell Springs, KY

  • One daughter: Glenda (Keith) Caudill of Dunnville, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Twenty great-grandchildren

  • And six great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, George Lawhorn and Elmer Brown; brothers, Logan, Oscar, and Elmer Sallee; and sisters, Lora Baldock, Ora Mae Miller, and Clara Rubarts.
