ACMS students now using iPads courtesy DonorsChoose donors Click on headline for complete story, photo(s) By Shamarie Claiborne News from Adair County School District In June of this year Adair County Middle School 7th grade science teacher Denise Grant asked folks to support her and her classroom this year by sponsoring the purchase of iPads through DonorsChoose.org. Her campaign was a huge success and she has just received them. Ms. Grant has created and produced a workbook of her own design that incorporates technology based lessons. As you can see from the pictures the new devices are being put to good use and the students love them. Ms. Grant asked that I pass on the following: "In today's lesson we used our donated iPads to scan QR codes that I created for our books. Students were taken to a website that 'quizzed' them on picking out the different variables involved in an experiment. This was a great way to incorporate student use of technology and review the current content being covered in class. As they finished, I was bombarded with questions like "Are there more sites like this?" and "Can we do it again?". A teachers dream... total student engagement! Thank you so much to all the donors who contributed waaaay back in June who helped make this possible!"Shamarie Claiborne, Media Publicity Coordinator, Adair County School District This story was posted on 2013-09-05 09:13:38
