Mrs. Louise Slinker Shepherd, 88, of Greensburg, KY departed this life on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at the University of Louisville Hospital.

The funeral services for Mrs. Louise Slinker Shepherd were conducted at 10amCT, Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, with burial in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Curtis Slinker and Bro. Darryl Coffey will be officiating.



Pallbearers: Tyler Hancock, Tate Hancock, Dan Emmons, Bronston Pierce, Todd Hall, and Wayne Stearman.


Mrs. Louise Slinker Shepherd, Green Co., KY (1924-2013)


Mrs. Louise Slinker Shepherd of Greensburg, KY was the daughter of the late Homer Hall and Velma Stearman Hall. She was born on Monday, September 22, 1924 in Taylor County, KY, and departed this life on Sunday, September 1, 2013, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. She was 88 years, 11 months, and 10 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was also a former Clerk for the Green County Health Department.

She united in marriage to Marvin Slinker on July 9, 1941 who preceded her in death in May of 1988. She later united in marriage to Charles Shepherd in September of 1994, who also preceded her in death on January 15, 2000.

Survivors include the following:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Rita and Billy Hancock of Greensburg, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Tyler Hancock, Dr. Tessa Emmons and her husband Dan all of Greensburg, KY; and Tate Hancock of Auburn, KY

  • Two great-grandchildren: Chad Emmons, and Emma Emmons both of Greensburg, KY

  • A sister-in-law: Linda Hall of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Shepherd was also preceded in death by a brother: Henry Hall; and a sister: Leontene Noe.
