The Adair Sheriff's Department responded to a single vehicle wreck on the parkway early Sunday morning, September 1, 2013. The accident occurred when Benjamin Madon, 21 of Pineville KY was driving his 2013 Silverado when it appears he hydroplaned, lost control and struck a guardrail.

The vehicle from there rolled back onto the roadway before coming to a stop overturned just before Russell Creek Bridge. Adair EMS and Search and Rescue also responded to the scene. Madon refused treatment on site. The east bound lane was blocked for an hour until the vehicle was able to be removed.

Road conditions and weather are believed to be the primary factor in the accident. --Deputy Adam Cravens
