(Ad) Farmers Market on the Square: Purple Peppers today

2013-08-24 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo CM staff.
You don't have to be Peter Piper to get pick a peck of Purple Peppers, the folks at Tucker's Station Farms, have done it for you. The peppers taste the same as other bell peppers, they just add a splash of color to plates - and that seems more important for home cooks today - and, if you follow the list in CM's What's Cooking, more and more Adair County restaurants are using color in innovative ways to make plate presentations more appetizing. We've heard more healthy, too. Maybe that's why "steamed" is the new trend in the lunch/dinner veggies lists. The Farmers Market on the Square, in the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square Annex, Columbia, KY, parking lot, is open today from 8am-12pmCT TODAY and each Saturday in the growing season. And yes, "It's on your way to everywhere," especially to the Mark Twain today! And thanks, restaurant owners, for featuring local foods on your menus. - From Farmers Market on the Square
