No details on the scope of the contract were revealed, but Chairman Jim Hadley said that it would all be made public after it is completed.

The action came after a very brief executive session and after Jim Hadley, Chairman of the Board, "We as a board have tried but so far, we have not accomplished anything," - in regard to securing new jobs. The vote to move ahead with the project was unanimous.

Chairman Hadley said that if the contract is completed, the individual will report to Economic Development Executive Secretary Stivers and Stivers, in turn, would report to the board.

All board members were present: Chairman Jim Hadley, and members Tony Corbin, Anthony Janes, Kay Bowman, Dan Antle, and Doug McCammish, along with Executive Secretary Sue Stivers.

The board was presented prices of 1/3 page for $1,900, 1/2 page for $2,700 or a full page ad for $3,200. On a motion by member Randy Burns, the board chose the $2,700 advertisement. Board approves budget for Fiscal Year 2013-2014

The Board unanimously approved a budget for Fiscal Year July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014. After passage Chairman Jim Hadley announced that it would filed with the Adair County Court Clerk and would be public record at that time. However, after Sharon Burton of the Adair County Community Voice advised a board member that the budget was public record immediately on passage, copies of the budget were made available to the Voice. At the request by Editor Burton, it was also made available to ColumbiaMagazine.com, the only other media present for the meeting.

The budget estimates revenues of $27,200, a cash carryover of $126,458, for a total of receipts and cash of $153,658, and appropriations of $64,449.

The complete budget can be viewed at CACEDA headquarters and, after it is filed with the Adair County Court Clerk, at 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY.
