Ronald Absher, Louisville, KY (d. August 18, 2013)

He was a native of Chicago, IL, a member of Kenwood Heights Christian Church, a US Navy veteran and a retired auto technician. He leaves many relatives in Adair and Taylor Counties of Kentucky.

Ronald Glen Absher, 56, of Louisville, KY, died Sunday, August 18, 2013 in Louisville.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 10amCT/11amET at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2pm-7pmCT/3pm-8pmET, Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the funeral home.



He was a native of Chicago, IL, a member of Kenwood Heights Christian Church, a US Navy veteran and a retired auto technician.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Absher, Sr., and a brother, Richard Absher.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Emery Taylor Absher of Louisville, KY, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Danita Morgan and Messarine (Keith) Perkins, all of Illinois

  • His mother & step-father: Viola & Ray Benaitis of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three sisters: Anita Daniels of Illinois, Sandra Kimmy of PA, and Debra Etzhorn of Ohio

  • Two brothers: Kenneth Absher, Jr., of Columbia, KY; and David Gall of Illinois

  • Five grandchildren: Nicholas, Jeffery, Lindzi, Chloe and Keith

  • One great-grandson

  • His aunts: Norene Feese and Fannie Bell Pederson, both of Columbia, KY

  • His step-mother: Juanita Absher of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews

  • Two dogs: Dudley and Dottie

  • And cat: Daisy
