Marion County fatal collision takes life of Finley, KY resident

Driver of 2002 Chevy pickup arrested and charged with DUI 1st aggravated. 40-year old driver of 2012 Polaris Razor ATV transported to Springview and pronounced dead there by the Marion County Coroner. 14-year old passenger on ATV also treated for injuries.

(LEBANON, KY.) - Trooper Logan Richardson is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at approximately 7:09pmCT on KY 208. 28-year-old Joseph M. Spaulding of Lebanon was operating a 2002 Chevy Pickup, traveling east on KY 208 when he crossed the centerline and struck a 2012 Polaris Razor ATV. The Razor was operated by 40-year-old William J. Cecil of Finley, KY.<


BR> Cecil was transported to Springview Hospital where he was later pronounced dead by the Marion County Coroner. A passenger on the ATV, 14-year-old Jonathan Cecil of Finley, was also belted and was transported by private vehicle to Springview Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Spaulding was not belted and was not injured. He was arrested at the scene and charged with DUI 1st with Aggravated Circumstances. Additional charges are pending. Tpr. Richardson was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff's Dept., Fire, EMS and Rescue.
