Crash on Louie B. Nunn takes life of Russell Springs, KY woman

Passenger pronounced deceased at the scene by Russell County Coroner

RUSSELL SPRINGS, KY - Trooper Logan Richardson is investigating a fatal collision that occurred 0.5 mile west of Russell Springs on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway at 04:45amCT.

Johnny Brandt, age 26 of Jamestown, KY, was traveling east on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway in a 1993 Jeep Cherokee when he dropped off the shoulder of the roadway, struck an earth embankment, went airborne, and overturned.



Brandt was wearing a seatbelt and was airlifted to UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY, for treatment of injuries.

Deanna Burton, age 40 of Russell Springs, KY, was a passenger in the vehicle. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Deanna Burton was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Russell County Coroner.

Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the collision. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Richardson.

The Russell Springs Police Department, Russell County Sheriff’s Department, Russell County EMS, and Russell Springs Fire Department assisted at the scene.
