Cooking with Herbs class by ACGC will include sampling of dishes The Adair County Garden Club (ACGC) will present "Cooking with Herbs from Your Garden" at 1pmCT, Thursday, August 22 at 1pmCT, in the basement of the Chamber Building, 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY. Contact: Donna Jones, ACGC president, 270-634-2125. (Small charge; free for members) Donna Jones, President, Adair County Garden Club "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme" is more than the name of a popular song, these herbs (and many more!) can be ingredients in any number of delicious dishes, and the Adair County Garden Club wants all to know how with their "Cooking with Herbs" class. Everyone is invited to attend and to come hungry! Participants will be invited to sample some wonderful dishes - entrees, breads, desserts, and more - all prepared with locally grown herbs. Printed recipes will be available so you can go home and make the dishes you most enjoyed. Students also will receive a package of exotic Turkish saffron (made from dried stigmas of the fall-blooming crocus) as well as various herb seeds for your own spring garden. The Adair County Garden Club recommends early registration. Class tuition is $10.00 for non- members of the ACGC. To register, please contact Donna Jones at 270-634-2125. The Adair County Garden Club meets at 1pmCT, on the 4th Thursday of each month in a variety of locations. Each meeting is designed to expand your knowledge of gardening techniques, landscape ideas, environmental issues, natural resources, birds, wildlife and more.
