Bonnie Giles, age 93 years, formerly of Knifley, KY passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 2amET, at the Grandview Health and Rehab Center in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11amCT/12pm noon ET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY with Bro. Bill Warren, the officiating clergy. Burial in the Caldwell Chapel Cemetery 2705 Caldwell Ridge Road, Knifley, KY. Visitation will be after 3:30pmCT/4:30pmET, on Monday, August 5, 2013, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Bonnie Giles, Adair County, KY (1919-2013)


She was born in Casey County, KY, on September 8, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Jamima Bottoms Hardwick of Casey County, KY. She died Sunday, August 4, 2013, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 93 years, 10 months, and 26 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Lee Giles in 1969.

He is also preceded in death by a grandson Michael Wayne Pyles in 2011. Survived by the following:
  • One son: Charles "Frog" Giles and wife Joyce of Knifley, KY

  • Two daughters: Dennie Pyles of Knifley, KY; and Judy Pyles of Knifley, KY

  • Two step children: Gene Giles of Dayton, Ohio; Pearl Arnold of Louisville, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Thirteen great grandchildren

  • and two step great grandchildren
Mrs. Giles was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle in Knifley, Ky and a homemaker.
