Raymond Thompson Munson, Casey Co., KY (1924-2013)

He was a native of Franklin Co., KY, the son of the late Everette Byron and Annie Richardson Munson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Payne Munson. He is survived by his niece and daughter of the heart Toni T. Parker and her children, his sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Elkhorn High School and a United States Army veteran, having served in the Philippines as a half-track driver. He worked for Sower Hardware and several local automobile dealers before opening Munson Auto Sales.

Raymond Thompson Munson, age 88, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 at Taylor Manor Nursing Home, Versailles, KY.

Graveside services for Mr. Munson will be 1pmCT/2pmET Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Antioch Cemetery, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Dwight Coffman officiating. Casey County Funeral Squad will conduct military honors. The family will receive friends at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, 312 Washington Street, Frankfort, KY, Monday, evening, 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmCT.

Mr. Munson was born in Franklin County, KY, on Friday, November 14, 1924. He died Friday, August 2, 2013, in Versailles, Woodford County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 7 months, and 18 days.

Survivors include his niece and daughter of the heart, Toni T. Parker and her children, Todd Smither (Tiffnay), Trey Waddle (Lauren), Paige Waddle (Jacob); sisters, Polly Thornton, Sara Nell Ford, Carolyn Rodgers; and numerous nieces and nephews. His wife of 57 years, Ruth Payne Munson, passed away November 16, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Everett Jr., Sam, Charles, Tom and Ed Munson.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Munson to 4 Paws for Cam, c/o Lauren Webb, 571 Chinook Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601.
