Crash near Edmonton takes life of Bowling Green Driver Driver of Honda pronounced dead at the scene. Honda was eastbound on Cumberland (Louie B Nunn) Parkway, left road, entered median, became airborne, entered westbound lane, striking a WB semi; driver of semi treated for non life threatening injuries at TJ Samson Hospital, Glasgow, KY. Jared Newberry, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police CMV Region 2 Kentucky State Police Commercial vehicle Enforcement Region 2 is investigating an early morning crash at 6:28amCT, Friday, August 2, 2013, that claimed the life of a Bowling Green, KY woman. The accident occurred along the Cumberland Parkway near mile marker 32, 4 miles east of Edmonton, KY and 15 miles west of Columbia. According to Officer Bryan Jones, a 2002 Honda passenger car operated by Paula McMahan was traveling eastbound on the parkway when it left the roadway, engered the median and became airborne. The vehicle then entered the westbound travel lanes, striking a semi tractor and trailer. McMahan was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the commercial vehicle was transported to TJ Samson Hospital, Glasgow, KY with non life threatening injuries. Westbound lanes of the parkway were closed for an extended period of time, however, they were reopened Friday afternoon. Seatbelts were in use by operators of both vehicles.
