Missing Monroe Co., KY, man found this morning Body of Mark A. Proffitt found in Tompkinsville, KY. Autopsy will determine cause of death. KSP Post 15 Det. Jamie Richard continues the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call KSP at 800-222-5555 or call 911 Next earlier story: KSP Post 15 trying to locate missing Monroe Co., KY man with photo(s) By TFC William Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY TOMPKINSVILLE, KY - At approximately 10:55amCT, Thursday, August 1, 2013, the Kentucky State Police, Post 15 received a call from Tompkinsville Police Department that a body had been found near the intersection of M.O. Lane and Richards Drive in the city limits of Tompkinsville. Upon arrival to Carter Court, KSP detectives found the body of a white male in an overgrown field. The male subject was identified as Mark A. Proffitt of Tompkinsville who had been reported as missing. Mr. Proffitt was pronounced deceased by the Monroe County Coroner. The cause of death is to be deteremined. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed at the State Medical Examiner's office. Det. Jamie Richard is investigating the death. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555 or by calling 911.
