Delwin K. Blair: Let's get rid of disgusting looking property

Agrees with Vickie Pike

Delwin K Blair writes:

I agree strongly with Vickie Pike about the unsightly buildings in our town.

I have spoken on different occasions with some members of the city council about the rundown buildings and falling down homes and all please to end this problem have gone unheeded.

From what I can tell, their answers seem to be "just ignore it and it will go away" or "we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings". Well, my feelings are hurt by having to live in a town which is in an obvious state of decay- especially, since I am a taxpayer in said city.

As I recall, Mayor Harris in the last election ran on a platform which included city beautification. So far Mayor, you have not delivered on this particular part of your promises.

And why can't the City Council take a stand on the matter? Certainly as elected officials, they can find some way to end this blight on our town. --Delwin K Blair
