Green River Special Operations trains for swift water rescues Recent heavy rains have GR Special Operations Team - Breeding and C-ville Fire Department swift water rescue teams, on high alert. Team takes advantage of controlled release from Green River Lake Click on headline for introduction with photo(s) By Chris Taylor, Captain, Swift Water Rescue Team Breeding Fire Department The Breeding Fire Department has been on high alert from all of the past flooding rains that hit our area over the past 3-4 weeks. Breeding Fire Department is on standby mode anytime our area is under a flash flood watch. During that period BFD was on standby several times and made a couple of standby responses to neighboring counties for mutual aid responses for possible swiftwater rescues. No actual rescues where made. After all the recent rains Green River Lake raised several feet from all of the run off from the rains. The Green River Special Operations Team - Breeding Fire Dept. Technical Rescue Team and Campbellsville Fire Rescue Special Operations Team - took advantage of of the controlled flood release to train at Green River Lake Dam.
