Kathryn Miller: Crossing The Center Line There's no excuse for driving in the other lane - none at all By Kathryn Miller Almost two years ago we had several accidents in our area that were caused by people crossing the center line and driving into the other lane. Quite a few people died due to the carelessness of other drivers. Things got better for a while. People were very careful and aware for a long time. Then recently people started getting bad about it again. One instance recently was some guy was half way in the other lane where my husband was driving our truck. Our 5 year old daughter was in the car with him. This forced my husband off the road and the other vehicle hit our truck causing a large amount of damage and - worst of all - almost made them roll down a hill that went 50 feet down. They weren't hurt but they could have been. There is no excuse for driving into the other lane - none at all. I don't care if the road is curvy. I don't care if you are crossing a bridge; the guard rails won't jump out and bite you. People, please watch it out there. The one that could be hit by a careless driver is someone's loved one. - Kathryn Miller This story was posted on 2013-07-19 04:57:51
